Cape and Island 26-May-2010

Report Date: Cape and Island 26-May-2010

Stripers are at all your favorite fishin’ holes around the island. Lots of keepers in the mix! Blues made a good showing a few days ago at Wasque but the action has slowed since then.

It seems as though the large ones are still offshore; not just here but all around the Cape and Islands.

There are squid in Edgartown Harbor—good news there.

The Sea Bass catch has heated up, Tautog also; Scup are slow so far.

Over in America, there are Blues in the 3-4 lb range at the west end of the Canal. With the good tides coming up this weekend, the striper catch is expected to be red hot!

A 35# Bass caught on a live Mackerel in B.Bay was just weighed in at Red Top. The opening of the Scup season is also expected to produce big-time in Buzzards Bay.
